Business Advocacy

From city council to regional transportation issues to state measures, the Tualatin Chamber of Commerce is the champion for your business on legislative issues. We work to create a business-friendly environment so that businesses can create jobs in order to foster a healthy and stable economic foundation within our community.

By representing over 430 businesses in Clackamas and Washington counties, we are a catalytic voice. Issues we convene our community on to create and open a dialogue between businesses, city/regional/state organizations, and the community include but are not limited to:

  1. Business Retention & Expansion

  2. Transportation

  3. Workforce Development

  4. Public Affairs

  5. Housing

The BAC meets monthly to review issues and opportunities as well as weigh in on policies that lead to a healthy business economy. In addition, we have joined the Oregon State Chamber of Commerce (OSCC) and adopted its Legislative Priorities.

Additionally, we provide many resources and opportunities that educate and inform on issues. We encourage you to check our Advocacy News and Chamber News and Tools for Business. We host programs such as the State of the City VIP Reception, Key Leader’s Breakfasts, candidate’s forums, and more.

Process of Activation

When an issue arises:

  • The Business Advocacy Council (BAC) receives information from all parties involved as well as industry experts and makes a recommendation.

  • This recommendation is heard by the Board of Directors.

  • Once approved, our organization is activated to use all our resources necessary to advocate for you.
