Tell me about how your business got started.
In 2003 Jack Hansen, the owner, started Bull Mountain Heating & Cooling after working with Lennox Industries for 31 years as a field engineer. He named it Bull Mountain because, still to this day, he lives on Bull Mountain. His Son, Brian Hansen, helped during the summers as he went to Oregon State University. After school Brian started working full time with his Father and fell in love with the industry. Brian’s other two siblings, Laura Hansen-Arnold and Kurt Hansen joined upon graduating from Oregon State University a few years later, and the company continued to grow. Laura is now Operations Manager and Kurt is the Foreman/Installation manager. Bull Mountain now employs 12 great people and continues to grow because of a dedication to high quality work and incredible customer service.
What problem does your product or service solve?
We solve comfort problems in both residential homes and commercial buildings, focusing on primarily the heating and cooling equipment. We do some water heating work.
What is your business philosophy?
Our mission statement really sums it up: WE ARE COMMITTED TO CREATING A TEAM CULTURE FOCUSED ON CARING AND THE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. WE ARE ADVOCATES OF GOOD WILL AND FELLOWSHIP.
How does your business give back to the community?
Brian Hansen is now on the board of directors for the Tualatin Chamber and tries to do whatever he can to help other businesses grow. We have a close relationship with Make-A-Wish Oregon and Jebner’s Wish Foundation, raising money yearly for the organizations. Bull Mountain Heating also pays for education for future HVAC technicians with ABC NW and NW College of Construction. We are always up for volunteering time in the community. We believe that if we care for our community, the community will care for them.
If you could say one thing to the people of Tualatin, what would it be?
During this time, we want to say, “STAY SAFE!” Bull Mountain Heating is taking many precautions to be as contactless as possible. Our clients are spending more time in their homes, and being a part of creating a safe environment for them is extremely important to us.
