Volunteer Highlight – Alec Ramsey, Southwest Office Supply

How did you decide to pursue the career that you are working in today?
I had been working in the medical field for sometime in two large organizations. I took sometime and really looked at the trajectory I was on and who was around me. I then decided I needed to be in a field where I could have incredible opportunities and really see the impact I was making. That is how I found Southwest Office Supply, their way of business a lines with how I see doing business and I agree with our values and culture.

What is the most important thing you want people to know about your business?
We are on time and on budget, and we have a track record to prove it. But if you ask any of those proven customers they won’t mention those things, working with us is something you have to experience.

What is an important lesson you have learned?
Being patient honest and direct makes a world of difference in making people happy in the end.

What are you doing to ensure you continue to grow and develop?
Constantly asking questions and seeking advice from people around me. Then listening and reapplying what I identify with to grow as a person.

What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I was a sponsored ski racer for a number of years and I am a pretty good cook!

What do you perceive as the benefits you receive from Chamber membership?
The connections and relationships that I develop, sometimes those lead to business relationships, referral partners or even friendships. In any case making connections with motivated individuals in a benefit of membership.
