2. Loan Payment Forgiveness:

    1. If you get a new SBA loan before Sept. 20,
      1. your first six (6) months of payments (principal and interest) are forgiven.
      2. Maximum forgiveness is $9,000 per month.
    2. If you currently have a loan, you can get:
      1. Three (3) months of payments forgiven if you are NOT in a hard-hit industry OR
      2. Eight (8) months of payment forgiveness if you are in a hard-hit industry (e.g., food service, accommodations, the arts, entertainment, recreation, education, laundry, and personal services).
  • Maximum forgiveness is $9,000 per month.

4. Employee Retention Tax Credit

If you paid state or federal payroll taxes in 2020 or will in 2021, check this out: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/faqs-employee-retention-credit-under-the-cares-act

In 2020, the tax credit was $5,000 per employee. If you need to file payroll taxes for 2020, you can use this credit to pay what you owe. If you owe less than $5,000, then you can get the remainder as a refund.

In 2021, this tax credit increases to $14,000 per employee AND you can get a PPP as well as the tax credit.
