Free Certifications which Can Increase Your Sales!

By Kathy Bazan, BRC Consultant

Ever wondered how people obtained the “women-owned business,” “veteran-owned business,” or “minority-owned business” certifications? Ever wondered how you could use certifications to build your business?

The U.S. government is the world’s largest consumer of everything from art to CPA review courses to zippers. The quickest way to start is to contact Government Contract Assistance Program (GCAP) at (800) 497-7551. Their services to you are free and confidential. They will help you prepare your General Services Administration paperwork and explain each step to you. In addition, they can show you how to bid on government contracts so that you are selling your products or services to federal, state, or local governments/agencies.

Within government contracts, there are set-asides in which a certain number of contracts are only bid upon by specific segments. For instance, in the set-aside contracts for women, only certified women-owned businesses are allowed to compete for that segment of the government contracts. This way, it is guaranteed that a certain number of contracts are awarded to those in specific niches such as veteran-owned, minority-owned, and women-owned businesses.

In addition, business owners who are certified have access to a free, dynamic mentoring program!

So if you have wondered how to become an SBA 8(a) certified business, wonder no more and sign up for this wonderful, free webinar!
