Charity… Good. However, competition and the possibility of winning is also Good. If this is a ” we don’t care if you cheat or stack your team, we only want your money ” tournament, let me know. Please tell me last year’s winning score and how close 2nd was. A 20 under winner with 2nd place at 8 or 10 means stacked teams and no chance of winning. Bad. Are people tapping in before the rest of the team putts? Is everyone’s drive ” really” being used (2times per 9)or is it whatever? If you choose a ball off the fairway are people dropping balls in the fairway. Oh here’s one, are people buying mulligans???????? You see, I’d rather just send a check for a good cause and and not waste a day. Having a chance to win and a good cause is what it’s about for me. Thanks, Shecky
Hello Shecky,
We don’t have the winning score numbers on hand, but will get them for you. This particular event is much more of a casual friendly tournament, so typically when making teams the personal or professional relationship is more of a consideration than skill level. Also, yes people are buying mulligans. We will have the answers to the rest of your questions shortly. Thank you!
Hello, Shecky, my name is Fletcher Johnson, Director of Member Services at the Chamber. In regards to your golf questions, we haven’t had teams run away with big margins of victory in the past. I think you will always have groups that bend the rules a bit and that’s not something we monitor closely because we don’t have the volunteer support to do so. As it is a scramble most are out for a good time and if they win too, great. We do offer 2 mulligans per player for the day, no more than that. We don’t decide the teams, our members put together their own teams so you could see a very strong team, that I can’t predict. If you are interested in joining us, we would love to have you. Thank you for your qyestions and have a great rest of the day!
