Tualatin’s relationship to road and rail access has provided a favorable environment for industrial development. The City is served by the Interstate 5, Interstate 205, and Highway 99W. In addition, the industrial area is bisected by two railroads: the Portland & Western Rail and Willamette & Pacific Rail. These transportation services enable manufacturing based businesses and wholesale trade companies to effectively move goods throughout the region and west coast.
Although Tualatin’s industrial areas are in a prime location and served well by transportation access, there is over 300 acres of vacant land within the current city boundary zoned for manufacturing and business park use. Several hundred more vacant employment lands exist outside of the city limits. These vacant lands represent a significant opportunity to increase local employment.
